WORK PERMIT

A work permit is a legal document that authorizes a foreigner to work for a specific Thai company in a particular occupation

Applying for a new work permit (New Work Permit)

  • Foreigners who wish to work in Thailand are required to have a work visa (Non-B). The foreigners must have their employer or agency prepare and submit an employment contract with the business operating documents of the agency to the Thai embassy in that country to consider the work visa. Once the foreigners have obtained that work visa, they must enter the Kingdom of Thailand and apply for a work permit in the form of a “WP.25” application.
  • If an immigrant already has a local, address, and foreign identity card, apply for a work permit in the form “WP.25” without processing a work visa. (Non-B)

THE MAIN DOCUMENTS REQUIRED Please arrange documents in the following order:

Part of the alien (Employee) :

  • Form WP.25 with 3 (3 x 4 cm.) photos (taken within 6 months, straight face without a hat and glasses)
  • FORM OF THE EMPLOYMENT CERTIFICATION duly filled out.
  • Passport and one copy of all pages or Certificate of Permanent Residence and Certificate of Alien with a copy.
  • Copy of the applicant’s education certificate or the determination form duly filled out.
  • A copy of professional license/ certificate in case of work in which the practitioner is legally required to hold a professional license or have passed professional certification.
  • Medical certificate showing that the applicant does not suffer from prohibited diseases, as item 3 of the above qualifications. (Issued within 1 month or as doctor prescribed)
  • A Power of Attorney made by an applicant with 10 Baht duty stamp affixed. (In case of not submitting in person)
  • A Power of Attorney made by the employer with 10 Baht duty stamp affixed and “in case of Thai employer”, a copy of employer’s I.D. a card is needed. “In case of foreign employer”, a copy of the employer’s work permit or if the employer is not working in Thailand nor has no work permit, Power of Attorney certified by Notary Public and Thai Embassy is needed.

Applicant’s documentation. Let the applicant sign every page of the certificate.

The documentation of the company or office, the authorized officer, the certificate of registration, or the managing partner, signed each certificate, every page, and the stamp of the corporation or office is important.

Documents relating to tax filings and social security filings must be certified by the relevant government agencies.
